The older I grow, the more I realise I am not the man I thought I'd be when I was a boy.
- I once swore that I would never wear a tie and work a desk job. I imagined that I would be trekking the jungle infested heads of village hunters with nary more than faith and a broad smile. As a consequence, I never bothered to learn how to tie a tie. It also didn't help much that in JC, there was always a very dear friend who did my ties for me. Today, I still cannot tie my ties which I have to wear on a fairly regular basis, but thank God for Zipper ties :).
- There was also a time when I believed that cars represented the opulence of capitalist societies. Being the bohemian marxist that I was, I quarreled with my mum over learning how to drive. In Australia, my cell group will drive around while I cut through the city on my bike. I finally picked up my license 2 years ago and my first 2nd hand car last year. And managed a bad auto accident within the first 6 months of driving.
Over dinner on Sunday with my parents:
"COE prices are so low, you might want to consider selling the Civic and getting a newer car."
Hai, I wish they hadn't brought it up because here I am looking at cars and desiring them in the most un-Godly manner - just like the opulent, tie-wearing consumerist stoogie that I have become.
Article A: Honda European 1.8 Civic Hatch.
Article B: Honda Integra 2.0 Coupe (Arght! Arght!)
Discontentment is a terrible affliction of this fallen nature that we confront daily. And I am pretty sure that even if I were to get BOTH the Honda's right now, it will only be a matter of years, nay months before my wanderlust fires up again.
Still, like Cheemoth and I discussed. We should be considering 4 or 5 door cars so as to be loving to our passengers.
Post-Script
Apparently the Honda Civic European is a 5 door car! Woot!Woot!

Is this a disguised stab at asking us to help you pick a car? (masquerading as politico-philosophical musings)
I'd go for Article A. Don't really dig white cars... and besides they are harder to clean, no?
Actually now that you mentioned it, I may have forgotten how to tie a tie too, not having worn one in years...

Don't like either cars :P Anyway both are 2-door cars!!

OC: Sometimes we blog about that which is closest to our hearts. I confess that I am in love with Article A, but B is totally sexy. Either way, it would mean having to part with my existing faithful and not-so dependable Civic.
Island is right though, both are 2 door cars. But I'm sure my passengers will not begrudge the ride just because its a little tricky getting in the back, right?

oh yes, the new civic hatch is cool. been eyeing it for a while. they rehash some bits of Alpha Rom 147's design, especially the back door's handles, making the car look like a coupe. The last I read, honda has not announced that it will launch it in sg. if yes, it will be next year...haizz..

yah, the rear doors are kinda 'hidden'. It does borrow heavily from the current flavor for European Hatchbacks including the Peugeot 307, but it is a CIVIC! so none of the slow-ass continental acceleration with sub 2l engines.
Perchance we can get enough ppl to // import and be the first in Singapore to drive this nifty car. So your new job pays you enough to get a car?

i don't get a high from driving a civic. only a Z4 or a TT (note these are lower end of sports car....I am not hard to please) if they are not going to launch it in singapore, I won't be disappointed. how much pay is enough?

Who wouldn't drive a TT or an SLK or a 307CC as opposed to a Civic? But we are talking about folks with limited moolah and no sugar daddies here. So given my present SES, a Civic Hatchback is all that I can reasonably look forward to. Best estimates that it should not cost more than the Integra so should be <80K. I think I can live with that. TT is at least 120K, so not even worth considering.

where u get TT for 120k? I thought it is at least 200k. Z4 is at abt 218k. stop. I shd not drool.
